NCFCA Mission Statement

The National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) believes that formal speech and debate can provide a means for home schooled students to learn and exercise analytical and oratorical skills, addressing life issues from a Biblical worldview in a manner that glorifies God. To provide these opportunities to home schooled students, NCFCA facilitates qualifying tournaments throughout the country and the annual national tournament. Competitor Eligibility

To compete in NCFCA sanctioned qualifying tournaments, a competitor must be 12-18 years of age on or before January 1st of the season in which they compete. The competitor’s education must be managed by their parents or legal guardians, and they must be taught at home by their parents or legal guardians a minimum of 51 percent of the time. Students who have graduated from twelfth grade or have enrolled in a college-level degree program are not eligible; no more than 49 percent of their education may consist of college-level courses.

NCFCA Affiliate Membership is required to compete in NCFCA sanctioned qualifying tournaments. The NCFCA Affiliate Registration form is now available online on the NCFCA homepage.

Parental Participation

Parental involvement of all tournament competitors is necessary to provide these competitive opportunities for our students. To this end, individual competitors and debate teams are required to provide judges and timers (and fulfill other areas of responsibility) each time they register to participate in NCFCA tournament competitions throughout the country. It is for this reason that CCofPA parents are required to learn the current NCFCA rules and develop effective judging skills.
